Dear Parents
You will be aware that this year London are hosting the 2012 Olympics. To mark this event we have decided to hold our very own gymnastic Olympic games on 9th and 10th June this year. Called 'Wirral 2012' Your child has been invited to take part in this event.

We will be opening the event with an opening ceremony, The gymnasts who took part in this year’s Gym Fusion North west will be performing their routine, We will also have an Olympic torch and will be asking successful Ex gymnasts of the club to be part of the opening ceremony. This includes British champion’s Mica Parry & Hannah Saunders and World champion Kath Peberdy

There will be 2 sections to the event for Recreational gymnasts to take part in. Floor & Vault, entry to this event is charged at £7 per gymnast. Gymnasts will be entered into sections with children of their own age and skill. Girls will be required to wear a fitted gymnastic leotard. Hair tied back neatly. Boys either a boys leotard and shorts or t-shirt/vest top and shorts (not to baggy).
We are also hoping to have a photographers on site all day to capture some great shots of the gymnasts as they perform. Details of this to follow.

There will also be a Commemorative t-shirt that will be required Price if any to be confirmed. (We are hoping to get these sponsored to keep costs down, if you know of any companies that may be willing to help towards this please see one of our fund-raisers / coaches)

Children will be split into teams and each team will represent a different country. Each Country will have Gymnasts of all abilities and all ages in them. This will be drawn out of a hat. All points gained throughout the games will go towards individual medals and Country medals.

Due to the short number of hours recreational children spend at the gym it is important that their attendance is good and they make the most of the sessions they take part in. This will ensure they have enough time to learn their routine’s feel prepared and enjoy the whole experience.
