WIRRAL GYMNASTICS SQUAD SHOWCASE 25TH SEPTEMBER 2010

After weeks of preparation and hard work Saturday was D day. All the squad gymnasts took part in the display and were fantastic. It was a bit difficult arranging all the routines as the summer holidays meant different children every session but fortunately everyone pulled together and we were able to put on a lovely display of the gymnasts skills for the parents. We raised a large sum of money towards new equipment to help the coaches support the gymnasts in our recreation and squad classes to learn new moves and towards expenses for our volunteer coaches and helpers. Ian Edwards Photography took wonderful photos and they are available to buy in the gym. We will put some of the photos on the website once the parents' orders have been done.

We have to say a big thank you to Karen, Derek and Janine for allowing the display to go ahead, all our helpers who we thanked in our programme and the coaches Mandy, Janine, Michelle, Di, Karen and Derek plus our helpers Jess, Liz, Donna, Claire, Aisha, Abbie and all the moms who did hair, makeup and chaperoning. Big thank you to Nicola Saverimutto for the flowers for the raffle from her new shop Flower in Oxton - they were absolutely beautiful, Ian for DJing and Andy Edwards, our PA chairman, for compering. The biggest thank you is to Sue Heron who made everything possible with her super organisation and multi-tasking skills. We think she has since changed her name.

All the gymnasts taking part received a t-shirt with great new logo designed by Amy and everyone's name on the back.

North West Elite Tumbling Prelims

27th February 2010

Gold Medallist Elite 2 (age 11/12) - Imogen Hopkinson

Silver Medallist Elite 2 (age 11/12) - Sian Foster

Gold Medallist Elite 1 (age 9/10) - Ella Wilkinson

Silver Medallist Elite 1 (age 9/10) - Laura Potts

All four girls have qualified for the National Elite Finals to be held in Stoke in May.

North West Tumbling Prelims

We had a very successful day at the North West Prelims held at Park Rd in Liverpool on Sunday 28th of February.
Jess Pang, Sarah James,Jess Clay and Amee Foster all won Gold medals making them all North West Champions and securing a place in the National Finals to be held in Stoke in May.
Tilly Lloyd was another medal winner with a Silver Medal.
Well done to all the girls who took part in this competition.
