Hannah Saunders has just become British Champion, after competing in the British Tumbling Tournament, age 11/12 year age group in Stoke. Competition was tough but she qualified for the finals where she tumbled her way down the track to win the title. Hannah has recently returned from Quebec, Canada where she represented Great Britain in the World Tumbling Championships. This was her first international and she finished in a very respectable 9th place, which was a fantastic achievement.
Sian also competed in the British Tumbling Tournament, in the age 9/10 age group where she also got through to finals and came 3rd. This was the first time she has competed at such a high level so she has done extremely well.
Well done to all the tumblers who have worked so hard over the last few months - they all deserve a well earned rest over Christmas!
North West Novice Championships November 2007

Sian had a good all round competition and as a result came home as North West Champion. It was a tough competition and the girls had to work hard but it paid off - well done to all the gymnasts.

North West Junior Sports Acrobatics Competition, Liverpool, July 2007
A new direction for the club as Wirral Gymnastics Club entered it's first ever Sports Acrobatics competition at the Park Road Sports Centre in Liverpool the 8th July 2007. Having decided in February that Sports Acro training should be added to the weekly routines to offer the gymnasts a new challenge, the gymnasts and coaches decided between themselves that they would like to enter a Sports Acro competition. Wirral's two pairs and a trio entered the competition and came away with 2 silver medals after only a few months of training in the new discipline. The first gymnasts to compete for the club in a Sports Acro competition were Rebecca Blacklock and Maddie Parnell, who were just pipped for a medal position. Congratulations to Aisha Stalker and Josie Sedgwick-Davies who took Silver in the Grade 1 Women's Pairs up to 50, and to Sophie Gradden, Josie Sedgwick-Davies and Stacey McGee who took Silver in the Grade 2 Women's Groups up to 50. Is this going to be the start of success in a new form of gymnastics?
